Training - Duke of Edinburgh's Award

DEA Logo316 Squadron has its own DEA coordinator is a registered operator of the Award under 3 Wing Australian Air Force Cadets. There are various opportunities where cadets will be able to attain certain parts of their respective Award.

The cost of the Record Book is currently $67, this also includes insurance for whenever you are on a DEA Activity.

The Award is a flexible, interesting and fun-packed program for all young people between the ages of 14 and 25 to participate in a number of activities over a set length of time. It is entirely voluntary and is structured so that cadets can design their own unique program centered around their interests and passions.

There are 3 Awards with Bronze being the least challenging, Silver and Gold being the most challenging. Each award has its own requirements and usually if you have done the previous award you are exempt from some of the training involed in the award. You also can't start each award until you have reached the minimum age requirement which are as follows:

  • Bronze - 14 Years Old at Start Date
  • Silver - 15 Years Old at Start Date
  • Gold - 16 Years Old at Start Date
